Introducing BACtrack Vio Smartphone Breathalyzer

We are very excited to announce the newest addition to the BACtrack Breathalyzer family: the BACtrack Vio Smartphone Breathalyzer.

Ever since we launched BACtrack Mobile a little over a year ago and were overwhelmed by response to the world's first smartphone breathalyzer, we realized what demand there was for smartphone-connected breath alcohol sensing devices and the pure potentiality therein. The more we explored this realm of being able to track and save results, having instant recall to blood alcohol content readings, the freedom afforded of having an estimate of when your BAC will return to 0.00%--the more we realized what a game changer they could be. We saw how these devices could potentially change the way people interact with alcohol as a society. We knew they had real power to save lives.

But BACtrack's mission has never been limited to just providing professionals or professional organizations or hospitals, or law enforcement with the ability to accurately measure an individual's alcohol level. No.

BACtrack's mission is to help people--all people--monitor their BAC and make informed decisions. This means creating a breathalyzer for every application and budget--for both professional and personal applications.

And so we knew our work was not yet done.

BACtrack Vio is our attempt to "close the loop" on smartphone-enabled breathalyzers. Vio is a device that is equipped with all the same features as BACtrack Mobile--in fact they both use the same recently upgraded and re-skinned app--but the Vio comes in a slimmer, more compact, more affordable package. Similarly, it is Bluetooth^®-enabled, and therefore connects wirelessly. It is compatible with the same range of iOS and Android smart devices.

However, this new, ultra-compact breathalyzer utilizes a MicroCheck^® Sensor instead of an Xtend^® Fuel Cell Sensor for alcohol detection, and therefore belongs in our Elite Series. But its size, keychain attachment, and AAA battery power make arguably more portable than BACtrack Mobile, and therefore easier to take with you and test, whenever and wherever you go.
