Daily Mail Features BACtrack Consumption Report

DailyMail.com just featured the BACtrack Consumption Report along with a map showing the US states with highest and lowest average BAC readings over the summer months. They also featured some of the key findings from our report.

Interestingly, in the same article, Daily Mail juxtaposed the data provided in our report with a study that came out earlier this year. That report, conducted by a group called Project Know, attempted measuring states' alcohol consumption based on the alcohol-related tweets originating there.

Judging by the two vastly different methodologies between our report--based on actual drinking data anonymously culled from users of BACtrack Smartphone Breathalyzers--and that of the tweet based study, it's not surprising that there wasn't a lot of crossover in terms of results.

There are a multitude of reasons for this--the first being that some people would rather not tweet about their drinking behaviors. Nevertheless, it is interesting to see how the BACtrack data compares to other drinking-related studies.
