Many of us are woefully aware of the dangers of drunk driving. But drunk walking?
While you stifle that laugh, consider this: a recently released government report found that more than a third of all pedestrians killed in the U.S. had blood alcohol levels higher than the legal limit.
This Las Vegas ABC affiliate asked Sandy Heverly of Stop DUI about it, and she said it's a trend her organization has seen for some time.
"They unintentionally step out into traffic. They step off the curb. They get in front of a vehicle and then we have another fatality or very serious injury."
All the more reason to be using a BACtrack Breathalyzer to measure your intoxication level--and that of your friends and family. The loss of coordination and motor skills that accompanies a BAC of 0.08% or above can be just as dangerous to a pedestrian as it can for a driver. One false move could change everything.
